The recent outbreak of polio in PNG continues with 19 confirmed cases since June and potentially 3 more cases pending confirmation. Emergency polio vaccinations are being distributed to local people in an effort to reach unvaccinated children. Anyone travelling to PNG should ensure they have had their full baseline (childhood) immunisation course and for adults, also received an adult booster.
