Fiji’s Minister of Health has been quoted as reporting 31 confirmed and 14 suspected cases of typhoid fever in Naitasiri Province. Typhoid vaccination is recommended for all travelers to the affected area and strict hand hygiene precautions / food and water borne disease avoidance measures should be adhered to. Typhoid vaccination is available in both capsule and injection form.
