The World Health Organisation is reporting that almost 6 million cases of malaria in Burundi have been recorded this year, with the situation continuing to worsen. Around 1800 people have died since January 1st. A mosquito borne disease, anti-malarial medication and mosquito avoidance measures are a must for anyone travelling to this area.
