The WA Health Department has launched a measles immunisation program for adults born after 1965. This is due to an increase in cases of measles around the world but particularly in Western Australia.
Adults who have not had two doses of measles are encouraged to contact their GP or our clinic to make an appointment for their free vaccine.
In Australia to be vaccinated against measles, a vaccine also providing protection against mumps and rubella is used. There isn’t a vaccine offering protection against only measles. More information about these diseases can be found on our measles/mumps/rubella page.
